Job description:

As a project manager, you are responsible for managing the assigned projects by serving as single point of contact for the COVID testing and the different stakeholders, following up on day-to-day activities and keeping a helicopter view. You ensure project delivery under defined budget, timeframe and quality level. To drive project progress, you are connect the different departments and help teams to overcome roadblocks. You are a scientist by heart with interest in project management and customer interaction. 

Projects will start in the COVID19 field and will gradually grow towards the company's CRO services. 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • You will co-coordinate the COVID testing as the company is part of the Belgian COVID taskforce
  • You are the primary point of contact for the COVID stakeholders during execution of the assigned project
  • You translate the COVID projects into lab projects and align with the team on task allocation, deliverables and timelines
  • You initiate, follow up and monitor several projects simultaneously and prioritize projects and tasks to adhere to timelines, budget and quality standards
  • You ensure good flow of information between the different departments and facilitate meetings to discuss progress and resolve issues
  • You have a good understanding of the real needs of the stakeholders, beyond the expressed technical request

Requested competences and skills:

  • A PhD or master degree combined with experience in scientific research in biotechnology, biomedical sciences, bio-engineering or other life sciences
  • Experience with project management in a life science, pharmaceutical or academic environment
  • Experience with transcriptome profiling, genomic research and gene expression technologies (qPCR, NGS, ddPCR) is a plus
  • Having worked in the field of biomarker research, clinical trials, drug development or in vitro diagnostics is a nice to have
  • Constructive mindset and real team player, strong motivational and team interaction skills

  • Open for occasional weekend work
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
