The company is a promising scale-up developing and selling innovative preclinical imaging solutions dedicated to high-throughput research applications mainly in the fields of oncology, neurology, cardiology and inflammation. Typical applications include better diagnosis and improved treatment of disease through the development of new pharmaceuticals or therapies. Their clients are highly skilled senior researchers and director profiles at universities, hospitals, Biotech- and pharmaceutical companies. After three years of operation, an install base of 60+ instruments around the world witnesses our fast-international growth. Further high adoption rates are anticipated worldwide as their high-performance imagers suit any lab space. 

Job description:

The company is actively looking for a candidate responsible for managing and executing inside sales. We are looking for someone skilled in lead and opportunity generation for the company's preclinical imaging solutions. This role will report to the sales team leader and work closely with the other international sales experts and the application support team to further establish the business worldwide.

The target is to address the academic, pharmaceutical and biotech markets proactively and raise awareness about their preclinical imaging solutions. Candidates must preferably have experience or high interest in the (pre)sales of capital equipment in a research environment and be highly motivated individuals. The job requires occasional travel abroad to attend conferences (up to 20 days/year).

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for successfully positioning and selling company products professionally and creatively worldwide. The job involves engaging and qualifying new leads, positioning of the company's products in order to provide solutions to their projects and business needs, partnering closely with field-based members of the sales team that are in pursuit of common sales goals. The ISR role is exciting and challenging as you have the opportunity to work with top academic institutions, research centers, and business organizations around the world utilizing your scientific knowledge and lab experience while selling products for the upcoming world leader in molecular imaging. This ISR role will require daily presence at the Belgian headquarters, located in Meetdistrict, Ghelamco Arena, Ghent.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops a strong understanding of the company’s technology and products and continues learning as the product portfolio evolves.
  • Establishes and executes on strategies for obtaining new leads in order to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Makes outbound contact to existing and prospective customers to identify sales opportunities.
  • Get in-depth insights and knowledge of the market from different angles: prospects, funding sources, competition, partners, etc.
  • Takes an analytical approach towards executing optimal solutions for an issue or opportunity.
  • Demonstrates capability to present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations in order to establish mutually beneficial circumstances for the customer and the company.
  • Has the ability to learn, change, and gain from each experience to become more effective in subsequent sales scenarios.
  • Works effectively in a team environment to drive and create revenue opportunities.

Requested competences and skills:

Profile and competences

  • Strong biology/chemistry background to allow for a better understanding of the broad variation of customer applications in order to uncover sales potential.
  • 2+ years of experience in biotech, or a related field with customer-facing experience.
  • Preferred knowledge of molecular imaging and more specifically PET, SPECT and CT imaging.
  • Experience with strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and effectively grow new leads.
  • Experience with high-end capital equipment is considered an advantage.
  • Conducts presentations and (video) calls effectively, professionally and comfortably to customers/peers/management.
  • Self- motivated to continue learning beyond initial onboarding within the role.
  • A demonstrated desire to be an effective collaborator within a team selling environment and a willingness to provide and seek feedback from teammates.
  • Strong desire to “win” and build customer relationships.
  • Approaches tasks with urgency. Willingness to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Door opener at new sites. Some assertiveness in the sales approach is appreciated.
  • High sense of initiative in entrepreneurial setup with international HQ.
  • Mastery English language, any other languages are considered an asset.

Education

  • Must have a bachelor degree, preferably in Biology / Medicinal Chemistry / Biomedical Engineering
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Biology / Chemistry / biomedical Imaging preferred
